Life can be filled with stress, hurt and disappointment. I firmly believe, through my own professional and personal experiences that Counseling can be a therapeutic, calming and worthwhile experience. My technique includes emphasizing strengths, supporting personal growth and prioritizing self-determination.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW) with extensive experience working with individuals, children, adolescents and families. I am most passionate about working with women who have struggled with Perinatal Mood Disorders and Postpartum concerns- which may also include Depression, Anxiety and OCD.
After completing my Master's Degree at the University of Houston in Texas, I have provided support and care for women and families and children in various treatment settings, including Catholic Charities- Teen Mom Parenting Program, Outpatient substance abuse treatment facilities, local Emergency Departments, Pediatric Social Work and Private Practice.
Our first session is a full hour which will provide time for us to get to know each other; you will also have the opportunity to speak openly and freely about any of your concerns, and I will answer any questions you may have about the process. My goal is that you will leave the first session hopeful about the future and ready to do the work.
It takes courage to reach out and accept help, I look forward to walking with you along your journey.
I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Houston, Texas. I am a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI) and National Association of Social Work (NASW). I grew up in Los Angeles, California and now live in Illinois with my husband and three children. In my free time I enjoy yoga, reading museums in the city and horror films.

Therapy can provide you with support, encouragement, empowerment and healing as life can often be hard and stressful. However, I understand how the process of going to therapy can seem difficult and intimidating. That is why I strive to provide an environment that is compassionate, affirming, genuine, and supportive. I also understand how each person is unique and am mindful of how their environment, family, gender, culture, religion, sexual orientation, and other factors have an impact on us all. I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is very important in the healing process. My goal is to work collaboratively with each individual, focusing on strength building and empowerment. I also try to add some humor into the sessions as laughter can minimize stress and aid in the healing process.
I am a bi-cultural, bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have 20 years of experience working in the mental health field with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults experiencing mood disorders, trauma, adjustment issues, women's issues, and domestic violence. I also passionate about working with women struggling with Perinatal Mood Disorders and Postpartum concerns. I strive to provide an inclusive and affirming environment to all.
I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work UIC in Chicago, IL. I have provided counseling and worked in the foster care system, community mental health, and domestic violence nonprofit agency.
